Photo Storgage - Electronic or the Old Fashioned Way?

As most of you know, I take a lot of pictures. I am obsessed with trying to preserve memories of my children and my life. For years, I have developed many of my digital photos. However, I am running out of space, and no matter how cheap I can develop pictures, I could save money by not developing them. In the past I developed pictures because I was afraid technology would change and I would lose my pictures if I stored them all in electronic format on my computer. Currently I keep my photos on my hard drive and I back them up on DVDs.

Has anyone else converted to only keeping electronic photo albums? Of course I may still develop a few pictures for frames and gifts, but I am seriously considering this. Tips, thoughts, comments are welcome.

I still like to have "the best" of each photo shoot/event printed out. Usually for me that is 3-10 pics out of 150 so my numbers are low. Digital albums will never compare to real ones.

I have been using http://www.flickr.com/photos/hughw36/ for a daily set or album and as an image server for blogspot for just ovr a year

http://slim2005.blogspot.com/ has become a flickr commentary blog

and http://snaps4.blogspot.com/ is where I post my own pick of my day with a link to that day's slide show

Which also means my photos have an off site back up copy

I can also send a signal from my MacBook Pro to any old TV screen for family viewing
